30 Debated Questions on Pakistan
What did Jinnah truly envision for Pakistan, and how has that vision been shaped, or distorted, by the country’s political, economic and structural choices? Could a united Pakistan have survived? Has the civil service succeeded in its mandate? And where does Pakistan stand today in the region and the wider world, especially amid a new wave of strategic “highs” and shifting alliances?
In this conversation, we host H.E. Imran Ali, Pakistan’s fomer Ambassador to Oman, current serving as an Additional Secretary for Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and a career diplomat whose distinguished service includes his tenure as Consul General in Barcelona. With decades of experience representing Pakistan abroad, Ambassador Ali brings rare insights into diplomacy in an era of flux.
Joining him as moderator is Osama Malik – advocate, socio-political observer and cultural commentator – who will guide a discussion on Pakistan’s historic and contemporary ties, the geopolitics of the Gulf, the evolving Pakistan-Saudi defense pact, and the role of diplomacy in addressing the concerns of overseas Pakistanis.
