Since the beginning of human history, the concept of symmetry has intrigued the artists and the philosophers alike. It’s often been associated with wonder, beauty and elegance. In this thought provoking session, different types of symmetries will be explored and manipulated in an insightful and non-technical way. The speaker will also explain how the simple idea of symmetry led to the most elegent and profound discoveries in mathematics and sciences all the way from the tiniest quantum world to the vast and ever-expanding cosmos. He will also highlight how symmetry has the potential to unify and integrate a vast variety of disciplines into a comprehensive and coherent search for beauty and truth.

Although a higher-level overview of some of the most powerful and modern ideas in mathematics and physics will be presented, the session is essentially for the curious minds and does not require expert knowledge in maths or sciences.
