Book Launch: “Rebel English Academy”
We are pleased to host the launch of Rebel English Academy, the latest novel by Mohammed Hanif, one of Pakistan’s most celebrated writers and journalists, and recipient of the Wellcome Book Prize, Sitara-i-Imtiaz, and the Commonwealth Prize for Best Book.
Set in a Pakistan grappling with martial law after the execution of a former leader, Rebel English Academy brings to life a vivid cast of interconnected characters facing a turbulent world shaped by power, ideology and resistance. With his signature wit and fearless insight, Hanif weaves a story that explores politics, religion, education, sexuality and the enduring spirit of dissent. The result is a novel that is sharp, humorous, provocative and strikingly relevant to our times.
The session will feature an in-conversation discussion with the author, moderated by Absa Komal, renowned broadcast journalist and news anchor.
