In this year’s Red Books Day session by Progressive Students Federation (PrSF), Fatima Shahzad will provide a clear theoretical framework to understand imperialism.

We have been seeing a genocide unfold in Palestine for over 2 years. We have seen President Nicolas Maduro of Venezuela being abducted and tried in US courts. There have been more threats of invasions, bombing campaigns and sanctions on other nations, ranging from Cuba to Iran. It is important thus, to look at the structures in which imperialism is rooted historically and how it continues to operate in increasingly barbaric ways.

Following from this, we will also look at the role of Pakistan – alignments, political-economic system, people’s history, current situation, it’s role regionally and our place in global geopolitics. To dismantle these structures we require a clear analysis for the present day, valuable lessons from anti-Imperialist and revolutionary movements and to build relations on the principles of solidarity, sovereignty and Internationalism.
