Afsana aur Muashra: Storytelling as Cultural Consciousness
How do stories shape the way we understand ourselves and the societies we inhabit? In Urdu literature, the afsana (short story) has long served not only as a form of artistic expression, but also as a powerful medium of social reflection and cultural awareness.
This session brings together celebrated writer and columnist Zahida Hina in conversation with Rakia Maryam to explore the relationship between storytelling and society. From questions of identity, memory and history to the shifting moral and political landscapes of our times, the discussion will examine how narratives both mirror and challenge the realities around us.
This session is free and open to all. Just visit the venue to attend it.
