About the Author:

Tariq Mahmood Malik was born in 1968 in Talagang, Punjab, Pakistan. He completed his matriculation from Government High School Talagang and pursued further studies at Degree College Talagang. During his student years, he remained actively engaged in sports and served as the captain of the hockey teams of both City High Club Talagang and Degree College Talagang, reflecting his early leadership qualities and team spirit.

Following his academic and sporting journey, he developed a keen interest in research. He began his work as a researcher with a focus on the sports history of Talagang, which gradually expanded into a broader exploration of the region’s social and historical landscape. Over time, he has dedicated himself to documenting and preserving the history of Talagang, contributing valuable insights into its cultural heritage and local narratives.

About the Moderator:

Dr. Zulfiqar Ali Kalhoro brings over 22 years of expertise in ethnographic research, with a prolific body of work that includes 17 authored books. His scholarship lies at the intersection of anthropology and development, with a strong focus on cultural heritage, tourism, colonial legacies, and marginalized communities. Currently, he serves as Assistant Professor at the Pakistan Institute of Development Economics.
