Hunting a Sequence in its Natural Habitat

In this talk, we will explore how elliptic divisibility sequences are associated with elliptic curves, that is often called the natural habitat of these sequences. We will first develop the essential tools and dictionaries required to understand the discussion. We will introduce the following concept from a commentator point of view that is easy enough to understand by a lay man.

About the speaker

Sajjad Akbar has completed his M.Phil from Abdus Salam School of Mathematical Sciences, GC University, Lahore. The above topic “Elliptic Divisibility Sequences” is the title of his dissertation which was supervised by Karl Dilcher (University of Dalhousie, Canada) and co-supervised by Amir Iqbal (currently, at Harvard University).
