Chess is Everything: Art, Science and Sport

Among the indoor games, chess presents some unique ways for brain-teasing. Unlike the games of cards and dice, there is no “luck” factor involved here. The chess opponents start with exactly the same pieces and thus have equal power. The one who plays it consistently with better skills and focus wins the game. In a given game, there is one and only one right move that demonstrates the beauty of logic and science. No other game, therefore, brings as much joy and excitement as watching the grandmasters move their pieces.

Hanif Qureshi has been a National Chess Master and Olympian who has represented Pakistan at international chess competitions. Currently, he is serving as the elected president of the Chess Association of Punjab and has been elected as a President of the Chess Federation of Pakistan (CFP). In 65 years of CFP history, he is the first Pakistani to be nominated by the International Chess Federation (FIDE) as the member of Global Chess in Education Commission (EDU).
