Pentagon Papers and Freedom of Expression
Daniel Ellsberg the whistleblower of the Pentagon papers died recently at the age of 92. He was an American political activist, economist, and United States military analyst. While employed by the RAND Corporation, he precipitated a national political controversy in 1971 when he shared 7,000 pages of top secret documents with the press. This discussion will focus on the importance of the Pentagon Papers in history and how they are relevant to the fight for freedom of expression around the world including Pakistan.
