About the speakers:
- Javeria Younes is a dedicated legal researcher and advocate with extensive experience in human rights. She has worked with local and international NGOs on critical issues such as child rights, education, and freedom of speech. Javeria is the author of a manual titled “Let’s Stop Torture Together” that has been translated in Urdu, Nepalis, and Bangla. She has contributed to numerous research papers on human rights. She currently consults for regional and international organizations.
- Dr. M. Farooq Wasiq is a researcher and academic with a diverse background in higher education. He has served as visiting faculty at prestigious institutions including Air University, FAST University, International Islamic University, and Bahauddin Zakariya University. Moreover, he had held the position of Assistant Professor at Quaid-e-Azam University.
- Dr. Muhammad Arif is a Director (NMRF) for the Government of Pakistan, focused on human rights promotion and protection. With a doctorate in Government and Public Policy, his research examines International Human Rights Law, particularly conventions ratified by Pakistan. Dr. Arif has authored publications on vulnerable populations and women’s rights. His experience spans various human rights formations, including contributions to national policies and representation at international forums.
