The book discusses the intersectional nature of societal injustices and warns of the potential repercussions of imposing majoritarian standards. The author’s powerful narrative emphasizes that no one is safe until everyone is safe, urging readers to recognize and address the injustices happening before our eyes.

About the Author:

Muneeb Qadir is a lawyer and a professor of Human Rights Law and Constitutional Law at The Millennium Universal College (TMUC) in Pakistan. He holds a Master of Laws (LLM) degree from Queen Mary, University of London, and a postgraduate qualification in Human Rights from the School of Advanced Study, University of London. As a political commentator, Muneeb Qadir has been featured on national and international media platforms, where he addresses sensitive current issues and matters related to global politics and international law.

About the Discussants:

  • Matiullah Jan is a distinguished journalist, communication trainer and media law expert. He serves as a special correspondent covering the Supreme Court and legal affairs. Matiullah pioneered Pakistan’s first investigative TV show on Dawn TV, focusing on unethical and corrupt practices within the media industry. He is a Chevening Scholar, and holds a Master’s degree in International Journalism from City University, London, and a Master’s in Defense and Strategic Studies from Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad.
  • Dr. Mehrub Awan is a global policy practitioner with over a decade of expertise in innovation, strategic management, and policy analysis, focusing on urbanism, governance reform, and gender issues. Her transdisciplinary research incorporates human-centered design, ethnography, systems thinking, and econometrics. She has consulted for organizations like the World Bank and the International Center for Research on Women. She is a Fulbright scholar, and holds a Master’s in Global Health Policy from The George Washington University and a Doctor of Medicine. She has taught at Habib University, Karachi, and frequently appears in media discussing contemporary issues and queering the media landscape in South Asia.
  • Amjad Nazeer, the moderator, is a dedicated social and public policy researcher, as well as a human and environmental rights defender. Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Cultural Anthropology, he holds degrees in Governance & Development Management (UK), M.Phil. in Human Rights Policy & Practice (Norway), and Social Anthropology from Quaid-e-Azam University (Pakistan). He has authored numerous research reports, booklets, op-eds, and news articles on human rights, minority rights, child rights, and education. Previously, he has worked with South Asia Partnership-Pakistan, Oxfam-Novib, and ActionAid-Pakistan.
