Dreams of Spring: A Cinematic Call to Action for Girls’ Education and Climate Justice

116 116 people viewed this event.

Join us for a screening of ‘Khobuna Da Sparlee’ (dreams of spring), a powerful film set in Sadokhail, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, that tells the moving story of Gull Bashra, a young girl in a remote village whose dream of attending school is thwarted by the daily burden of fetching water. As Gull’s story unfolds, the film explores the harsh realities of climate change and its deep impact on the lives of women in the Pashtun belt, capturing their resilience amid environmental hardships.

Following the screening, there will be a Q&A session with Jamil Iqbal, the director and the writer, to discuss the film’s themes and insights. Dr. Pervez Hoodbhoy will join the conversation.

This session is free and open to all. Just visit the venue to attend it.
