About the Speaker:
Amar Lal Amar is a distinguished advocate, human rights activist, and former student leader who has dedicated his life to the fight for justice and equality. His unwavering commitment to democratic values and human rights earned him recognition as a Prisoner of Conscience by the Human Rights Commission of America and Amnesty International during his eight-year imprisonment under General Zia’s regime.
Amar Lal Amar also served as a Special Assistant and Advisor to two Prime Ministers of Pakistan, Benazir Bhutto and Mian Muhammad Soomro. His career reflects a lifelong dedication to the causes of human dignity, democracy, and social justice.
