About the Guest Speaker:

Arvind Saharan, based in New Zealand and originally from Rajasthan, India, is a dedicated peace activist working to bridge India-Pakistan relations. In 2018, he launched Sarhad Ke Us Paar, a Facebook/YouTube series engaging with Pakistani intellectuals and opinion leaders. The show debuted with a six-part series on the Partition of India, featuring Prof. Dr. Ishtiaq Ahmed, and has since hosted prominent Pakistani figures like Javed Ahmad Ghamidi, Prof. Taimur Rahman, Lt. Gen. Naeem Lodhi and Ambassador Abdul Basit.

Arvind’s commitment to fostering dialogue led him to visit Pakistan in 2018, an experience he fondly recalls on social media, continuing his mission of promoting understanding and peace between the two nations.

About the Moderator:

Shakil Chaudhary is an Islamabad-based journalist, author, and researcher with expertise in media, communication, and critical thinking. A graduate of international relations and media studies, he has worked for several English-language newspapers and authored the acclaimed Handbook of Functional English.

A founding member of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) and former president of the Progressive Writers Association, Islamabad, Shakil is passionate about intellectual and social causes. Known for his exceptional interviewing skills, he has conducted extensive research-based interviews to promote India-Pakistan understanding through his YouTube channel. Shakil has also taught media, English, and academic writing at universities in Islamabad.
