About the Guest Speaker:
Rayan Khan, Director and CEO of Cosmic Tribe SMC Pvt Ltd, is a leading voice at the intersection of art, science and advocacy. As Director of STEAM Outreach for the International Association of Astronomical Artists (IAAA), he uses creativity to communicate complex ideas, including his award-winning installation at the Third Karachi Biennale (2022), which highlighted the impact of light pollution on biodiversity.
A recipient of DarkSky International’s Dark Sky Defender Award (2022) and recognized by World Space Week 2024 as one of 25 Educators for Climate, Rayan advances astronomy education as the National Astronomy Education Coordinator (NAEC) for IAU NAEC Pakistan. His affiliation with the Royal Aeronautical Society reflects his commitment to collaboration and exploration.
About the Moderator:
Zainab Abbasi is Event Manager at PakAstronomers, amateur astronomer and passionate science communicator. With over seven years of experience in the country’s astronomy scene, Zainab has collaborated with leading organizations such as Karachi Astronomers Society, Attock Astronomy, Cosmic Tribe, the International Dark Sky Association, and Astronomers Without Borders. Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in Physics at NUST, she brings both academic insight and grassroots experience.
