Blasphemy allegations carry profound legal, social and emotional consequences in Pakistan. Given the seriousness of the law and its implications, questions surrounding due process, digital evidence, investigative procedures and the potential misuse of accusations have become matters of public concern.

This session brings together a diverse panel – a legal expert representing individuals accused in blasphemy cases, a former senior official from the Cyber Crime Wing, a research journalist, a cyber security expert, and a Ph.D. scholar who has personally experienced such an allegation. Through legal insight, investigative perspective, and lived experience, the discussion will examine how allegations emerge, how digital spaces can be exploited through tactics such as honey trapping, and how investigative agencies respond to such cases.

The conversation aims to have an informed dialogue on safeguarding justice, protecting citizens from wrongful implication and strengthening institutional accountability – while upholding the rule of law. In a society where accusations can have irreversible consequences, careful inquiry and responsible investigation are essential.
