Join us for the book launch of Azaadi ke Baad (After Independence), a compelling research-based exploration of the history of Pakistani-administered Kashmir. Authored by Danish Irshad, the book discusses the people’s political and social movements, highlighting their context, significance, and lasting impact. In this session, we’ll discuss the struggles, aspirations, and the evolving dynamics that have shaped the region since its independence.

About the Panelists:

  • Danish Irshad is the author of Azaadi ke Baad and a journalist based in Islamabad. Active since 2014, he has contributed to several national and international media outlets. Currently associated with Neo TV, his research interests include the Kashmir conflict, regional culture, and the history of Jammu and Kashmir.
  • Syed Safdar Gardezi is a Senior Producer at Pakistan Television. He specializes in Pakistan’s political history and has written numerous investigative features for newspapers and digital platforms. He has also produced articles and documentaries on the Kashmir conflict and Azad Kashmir’s political history.
  • Farhan Khan is an Islamabad-based journalist with over a decade of experience in national newspapers and digital media. Currently, working for Saudi Media’s platform Urdu News, his focus areas include Pakistani politics, social issues, and the Kashmir conflict.
  • Osama Khawaja (Moderator) is the Planning Editor at WeNews and a multimedia producer. With five years of media experience, he has created numerous video stories and also served as a public speaking trainer at various universities and institutions.
