Behind closed doors and in hushed silences lie stories rarely told. In his book, Dr. Arjumand Faisel – public health specialist, writer, artist and curator of Gallery 6 – brings to canvas the unseen lives of Pakistan’s sex workers.

Through the bold strokes of expressionist paintings and the quiet resonance of words, Malka, Aliya, Laila captures emotions that go beyond the surface – pain and resilience, fragility and survival, the agony of submission and the dignity of existence. These works do not simply portray; they invite us to feel, to confront the silences that echo louder than words.

This book launch opens a window into hidden worlds, urging us to see beyond the veil of stigma and stereotype, and to recognize the human essence that lingers in every glance, gesture, and untold story.
