Book Launching: “Malka, Aliya, Laila: Paintings on Stories of Sex Workers in Pakistan”
Behind closed doors and in hushed silences lie stories rarely told. In his book, Dr. Arjumand Faisel – public health specialist, writer, artist and curator of Gallery 6 – brings to canvas the unseen lives of Pakistan’s sex workers.
Through the bold strokes of expressionist paintings and the quiet resonance of words, Malka, Aliya, Laila captures emotions that go beyond the surface – pain and resilience, fragility and survival, the agony of submission and the dignity of existence.
