Diagnosing Girls with Autism Spectrum Disorder: A Challenge
In this session, Daniyal and Salma Khurshid will discuss the challenges in diagnosing girls with Autism Spectrum Disorder from both the patients’ side and from the medical professionals’ side. They will also discuss why it is that way and what can be done.
About the Speakers
Daniyal Khurshid has completed his A levels and is a history enthusiast. In particular, he is keen on the least talked about topics. He is a regular at The Black Hole as he seeks admission to a university.
Salma Khurshid has done her M.Phil in Pakistan Studies from Quaid-i-Azam University and had worked in the development sector with organisations like CIDA and ActionAid. She has also worked as a mother tongue/bilingual teacher in various schools in Norway until returning to Pakistan. She did her Master’s in Special Education from Alama Iqbal Open University and has taught many children with special educational needs.
