Education at the Margins
What does it mean to think about education from the margins rather than the centre?
This session brings together educators, students, parents, and concerned citizens for a conversation with Agha Shakeel, Chairperson of CointheEducation (CTE), a grassroots initiative working with children of peasants and labourers in public sector schools across Sindh and Balochistan. From its beginnings as a small collective in Islamabad to its growing presence in underserved regions, CTE offers a ground-level response to educational exclusion through sustained, community-based support.
The discussion will explore how everyday barriers to schooling are addressed through initiatives such as the Dr Adib Rizvi 100 Mobile Libraries and Stationery Bank, and what it takes to build an education movement rooted in dignity, continuity, and local engagement.
This session is free and open to all. Just visit the venue to attend it.
