Film Screening: My Octopus Teacher
When Craig Foster took up free-diving on his own in the cold Atlantic Ocean, never had he imagined the warm relationship he would build with a sea creature. Years later, he realizes that “it’s possible to have a meaningful relationship with nature [even] with a plant that you nurture in your apartment,” by virtue of an octopus that prompts us to become tracers of a wild world, but also members of an intimate, big family. A cinematic gesture of respect and freedom, a tender cosmology lesson.
