
From Indus to the World: Reclaiming Indigenous Models of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
This session aims to reposition Pakistan, particularly the Indus region, as a historical and contemporary epicenter of inclusive, pluralistic thought, offering indigenous frameworks for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) that resonate globally. At a time when the world is grappling with polarization and identity conflicts, this dialogue will highlight how local knowledge systems can inform more sustainable and culturally grounded approaches to inclusion.
The dialogue will feature distinguished speakers including Dr. Zulfikar Ali Kalhoro, a renowned anthropologist and expert on cultural heritage, and Khadim Hussain, a respected scholar known for his work on peace, pluralism, and social cohesion. The session will be moderated by Gulnaz Shaikh, ensuring a dynamic and engaging exchange that connects academic insights with practical development frameworks. Together, the speakers will explore how indigenous cultural systems can inform contemporary governance, community resilience, and inclusive policymaking.
