The society seems to see only what it can explain under its indoctrinated theocratic worldview. For instance, a girl being a female should be groomed for getting married. She may go to school or not; she may earn good grades or not; she may earn a specialized professional degree or not; she might get distinction or not; she may become an entrepreneur or not; she may be a successful artist or not; she may be a heroine or not; she may be a model or not; she may be an astronaut or not… it is said she has to be groomed and ready to get married one day.

Let’s talk about those who at an early age decided not be a wedding piece but to be a career woman. What they faced and how they safely groomed themselves for not to marry. Let’s talk about those too who were divorced and didn’t remarry on their own will and those who widowed and made themselves into an iconic figure of strength instead of misery. Lets talk about the realities that challenge indoctrinated theocracy.

Dr. Afshan Huma has doctorate in Curriculum, Instruction and Teacher Education (CITE) from Michigan State University. Currently, she is serving as Head of the Department of Educational Planning Policy Studies and Leadership at Allama Iqbal Open University.
