“I’m Fine”: The Hidden Language of Depression

» “I’m fine” is often the most common response to emotional pain — a phrase repeated so frequently that the suffering behind it can easily go unnoticed. Many people living with depression continue to smile, work, socialize and fulfill responsibilities while quietly struggling beneath the surface.

This session explores why emotional pain is so often hidden, how depression can mask itself behind normalcy, and why society frequently misses or misunderstands the signs. From fear of judgment and social stigma to expectations of strength and resilience, the conversation will examine the pressures that prevent people from speaking openly about their mental health.

An important dialogue on empathy, emotional awareness, and learning to recognize the silent struggles that may exist behind seemingly ordinary lives.
