Imperial Crisis and Failures of Revisionist Left Politics
As the global order shifts from a uni-polar world, marked by the hegemony of US imperialism and its lackeys, toward a non-hegemonic era of inter-imperialist rivalries, we are witnessing an escalation of blatant imperialist aggression against the oppressed peoples of the world. This is evidenced by the Yankee-Zionist genocide in Palestine, aggression against Iran and Lebanon and Imperialist machinations in Ukraine, West Asia and across the third world. In our region, this backdrop is fueling proxy wars and fascist attacks on all forms of people’s resistance.
In this talk, the speaker will offer a critique of the revisionist liberal and social-democratic understanding of Fascism. He will analyse tactics of imperialism in the current situation to see how strategies of the revisionist Left, rooted in a fear of heightened class struggle and unprincipled notions of peace and national unity, ultimately subvert revolutionary attempts for seizure of power and militant people’s resistance.
