About the Guest Speaker:
Sachin Chitambaran is the President of Befrienders India, an umbrella organization supporting 14 emotional support and suicide prevention helplines across the country. He also serves as the Assistant Director of Training and Development at The Samaritans Mumbai, the first international branch of Samaritans UK, and is the Founder of The Connect Hut. With over 14 years of experience in emotional support and suicide intervention, Sachin is a leading expert in the field, dedicated to mental health advocacy and support.
About the Moderator:
Sania Saeed is a Research Assistant at The Connect Hut, where she specializes in researching and evaluating mental health initiatives in India and Pakistan. A trained active listener, Sania has also worked with Umang, Pakistan’s only mental health helpline in partnership with Google, offering emotional support to callers. Her work bridges research and practice in mental health care, contributing to the development of more effective support systems in the region.
