Na-Mukammal Azaadi: Jinnah’s Pakistan and the Minorities Left Behind

The promise of Pakistan’s independence in 1947 carried the hope of equal rights, dignity and security for all its citizens – a vision clearly laid out by Muhammad Ali Jinnah in his historic 11th August speech. Yet, decades later, religious minorities continue to face fear, discrimination and systemic exclusion, treated as second-class citizens in their own homeland. This session reflects on the gap between Jinnah’s promise and Pakistan’s present, the lived realities of its marginalized communities and the urgent need to reclaim an inclusive, just and pluralistic future.
