New Physics of Time in the light of Assembly Theory

154 154 people viewed this event.

Propounded by a chemist, Leroy Cronin, Assembly Theory is a hypothesis that became popular in the last couple of years. It claims to combine Physics with Biology to shed new light on the concepts of Complexity, Chemical Evolution and Time.

In this session, Rashid Saleem will explain how Assembly Theory claims to propose a new Physics of Time that is fundamentally different from the ones developed by Newton, Boltzmann, and Einstein. The speaker will also highlight some philosophical implications that emerge from this theory with its bold and bizarre claims.
The session is essentially for the general public and does not require deep philosophical or scientific background, though some basic understanding of Physics, Evolutionary Biology and Philosophy of Time will surely help.

About the Speaker:

Rashid Saleem is an Associate Professor in English Language and Literature at a Federal College in Islamabad. His interests range from Philosophy, Literature, Education to Linguistics, Psychology, Neurology, Physics, Electronics, Maths and Computer Science.
