Pakistan’s Diplomatic Moment: From Isolation to Influence
In a rapidly shifting geopolitical landscape, the position and perception of states can change in unexpected ways. Pakistan, which not long ago faced significant diplomatic challenges and limited space on the global stage, now finds itself playing a more visible, leading and constructive role in regional affairs.
This session reflects on Pakistan’s evolving diplomatic trajectory, particularly in the context of recent tensions in the region and efforts aimed at bringing peace. It will explore the role of diplomacy in preventing escalation and the complexities involved in moving from the margins of global politics to the centre of negotiation.
In this conversation, we host H.E. Imran Ali, Pakistan’s former Ambassador to Oman, current serving as an Additional Secretary for Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and a career diplomat whose distinguished service includes his tenure as Consul General in Barcelona. With decades of experience representing Pakistan abroad, Ambassador Ali brings rare insights into diplomacy in an era of flux.
Joining him as moderator is Osama Malik, an advocate, socio-political observer and cultural commentator.
This session is free and open to all. Just visit the venue to attend it.
