Poetics of Space: The Art of Storytelling in Interior Design
Interiors are more than physical spaces – they are stories waiting to unfold. Every design choice, from the placement of furniture to the layering of textures, shapes a narrative. Storytelling in interior design is about creating environments that spark emotions, evoke memories and invite personal journeys. A living room might carry the warmth of family gatherings, while a study may embody the pursuit of knowledge. Designers weave culture, history, and lifestyle into their work, embedding symbolic details and curated objects that become ‘chapters’ of the story.
When interiors are seen as living narratives, they transcend mere function and transform into immersive experiences that resonate deeply with those who inhabit them. Practically, this means thinking about flow, focal points, contrasts, and delightful surprises – turning each room into an emotionally engaging story. On social media, this narrative can be brought to life through before-and-after transformations, room-by-room storytelling tips and highlighting the subtle details that make a space truly unique.
