The Internal Roots of Pakistan’s Flood Crisis: Until How Long Will We Solely Blame the West?
While it’s true that wealthy nations bear a historic responsibility for global climate change, Pakistan’s devastating flood crises cannot be understood through a global lens alone. This session invites a critical look inward—at how governance failures, poor planning, unsustainable development, and environmental negligence have deepened our vulnerability to climate disasters. Join us as we explore the intersection of global injustice and local accountability, and ask: what must we fix within our own systems before it’s too late?
About the Speaker:
A Physics graduate from QAU, Urooba Nadeem is exploring nature-based solutions to prevent environmental catastrophes and build climate resilience. Her work seeks to mend the human-nature relationship, while she passionately catalogs native flora and preserves indigenous foraging wisdom.
