Our modern lifestyles are riddled with factors such as stress, inflammatory diseases, heart disease, and diabetes. Most of us often intuitively understand that a healthy diet and exercise are the solution to these ailments, but how can one start these processes? This talk will explore the science behind fitness and wellness, from how the body works to how the foods we eat determine our long-term health outcomes. Finally, the talk will cover practical ways that we can introduce exercise and wellness practices into our lifestyles, no matter our level of experience.

About the Speaker: 

Syed Ammar Mahdi is an educator, STEM instructor, Youth Leader and fitness professional. He has a background in Computer Science and the liberal arts, as well as certifications in fitness training, nutrition wellness. He has been collaborating with The Black Hole since 2022, including giving science talks at TBH Summer/Winter Camp and learning classical music at TBH.
