Observed globally on May 19, Hazara Culture Day celebrates the rich cultural heritage, resilience and identity of the Hazara people. In Pakistan, the Hazara community has contributed significantly to the country’s social, cultural, educational and public life while also navigating complex historical and social challenges.
This session explores the history of Hazaras in Pakistan, tracing their migration, cultural traditions, collective memory and evolving place within society. From language, art and community life to questions of belonging, discrimination, representation and resilience, the conversation aims to better understand the lived experiences of one of the region’s distinct communities.
