Samuel Beckett is one of the most prominent playwrights of the 20th century. A nobel laureate, Beckett’s work is marked by a prevailing sense of reduction. The reduction causes a characteristic meaninglessness, encapsulating the essence of the last century. His play ‘Waiting for Godot is considered the most influential play of the 20th century.
About the Speaker:
Ahmad Umar Ayaz is a playwright and short story writer based in Islamabad. He is the founder of Qissa Khwani Theatrics and his original plays have been performed all over the country to much critical acclaim. He is currently serving as lecturer in literature at Air University Islamabad.
