About the Speaker:

Barrister S. Jugnoo Kazmi is a Special Prosecutor and Legal Consultant at the National Accountability Bureau. She leads Women in Law in Islamabad and has previously served as State Counsel and Defense Counsel (on state expense) at the Islamabad High Court. Jugnoo has also clerked for the current Chief Justice of Pakistan after which she joined Justice Project Pakistan as a Legal and Policy Specialist and Group Development Pakistan as a Legal Consultant.

Most recently, Ms. Kazmi won in the ‘Rising Star of the Year’ category at the first ever Women in Law Awards which was a joint project of the Ministry of Law & Justice, British High Commission, Australian High Commission and the European Union. She has also been nominated for the ‘Young Achievers, Pioneers, Gamechangers – International’ category of the Justitia Awards 2022, held annually in Austria.

About the Moderator:

Hafsa Azid is presently serving as the Management Executive (Law) at the esteemed Competition Commission of Pakistan. As a licensed Advocate of the District Courts in Islamabad, she is recognized and enrolled with the Islamabad Bar Council, showcasing her commitment to the legal profession. Passionate about youth empowerment and family planning, Hafsa Azid currently serves as the Youth Representative for the Youth Forum for FP 2030, diligently representing and advocating for youth Family Planning forums under the guidance of the Population Program Wing, M/o NHS, R&C.

Prior to her current role, she gained invaluable experience and honed her legal skills as an Apprentice/Associate at Jamila Aslam Law Associates (JALA), a prominent litigation chamber in Islamabad, founded by the former Lahore High Court Justice, Ma’am Jamila Jahanoor Aslam (Advocate Supreme Court). Hafsa Azid earned her Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the prestigious University of London (External Programme), graduating in 2021. Complemented by her exceptional schooling at Headstart School, Islamabad, Hafsa Azid’s professional journey reflects her unwavering commitment to law and her drive to positively impact society through her legal expertise and advocacy efforts.
