War Or Peace – How Science Decides the Outcome
Can science be a force for peace, or does it inevitably fuel conflict? From nuclear weapons to satellite surveillance and artificial intelligence, the tools of modern warfare have their roots in scientific discovery. Yet the same knowledge also holds the potential to build cooperation, prevent escalation, and address shared global threats.
In this conversation, Prof. Waqas Masood – the winner of Salam Prize in Physics (2009), and recipient of the Presidential award of the Pride of performance (2012) – joins Dr. Pervez Hoodbhoy to explore how science shapes the balance between war and peace.
