About the Guest Speaker:

Dr. M. Arif Saleem is a distinguished researcher, educator, and social activist. He has collaborated on policy research with leading organizations such as the UNDP, World Bank, and HEC Pakistan. As an educator, he teaches marketing, international business, research, and management. Dr. Saleem is also committed to social activism, focusing on education and poverty alleviation.

About the Moderator:

Mubashir Akram, Founding Director of Pakistan Media Monitor, has over three decades of experience in social affairs, politics, development, and media in Pakistan. He previously served as a Political Specialist at the US Embassy in Islamabad, earning the Superior Honor Award from the Department of State in 2008.

Earlier in his career, Akram served as the Political Assistant at the Embassy of Japan in Islamabad from 1997 to 1999.

Akram has collaborated with various national and international organizations, including USAID, USID, UNDP, Oxfam GB and UNFPA to name a few. He holds a degree in Mass Communication from the University of Punjab and is an alum of the Foreign Services Institute in Virginia, USA.

An Islamabad resident, Akram enjoys rock and folk music, South Asian fiction, political history, and long-distance walking.
