What does ‘Meaning’ Mean?
How do we make sense of the world? How can we know what we know and how can language have any meaning at all? How can we ascertain that knowledge represented by language is true or accurate? In this lecture followed by an interactive session, we’ll have a brief but critical review of “the philosophy of language” from logico-semantics of Frege and Russell to speech-acts of Austin and Searle.
